New Year Blessings

Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," says the LORD. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. (NLT) 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. (NKJV) John 8:12 Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.” (NASB)

Mary, Joseph and the Baby

Luke 2:15-20 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about." So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told. (KJV)

Jesus Heals a Man Born Blind

John 9: 1-7 (1) As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. (2) His disciples asked him, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?" (3) "Neither this man nor his parents sinned," said Jesus, "but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life. (4) As long as it is day, we must do the work of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work. (5) While I am in the world, I am the light of the world." (6) Having said this, he spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man's eyes. (7) "Go," he told him, "wash in the Pool of Siloam" (this word means Sent). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing. (New International Version)

My Brother Victor

October 24, 1932 - July 24, 1952 “Let no one weep for me, or celebrate my funeral with mourning; for I still live, as I pass to and fro through the mouths of men”—Ennius During his short time on Earth, Victor was many things to many people: loyal friend, esteemed student, devoted grandson, his parents' pride and joy, blessed child of God and my beloved big brother. He was the first born son of Pastor and Mrs. Benjamin—the eldest child in our household of six children. Bright as sunshine, he lit up our world. As gentle as a breeze, he was a calming force. Victor was a free and adventurous spirit who loved climbing trees, telling jokes and laughing heartily. My brother was a loving soul whose devotion to family was boundless. Handsome, tall and kind: he was a smart dresser who adored outings with friends, watching films (ones that were acceptable to our strict Adventist-pastor-father) and frequenting our maternal grandparents' home in Chilukuru, Andhra Pradesh. In July...

What God Wants from You

God is very kind and loving to those who trust and believe in Him. What does God want from you? Psalm 15 explores that very question: Psalm 15 (King James Version) Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour. In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not. He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved. God loves those who go to church to worship Him. He loves those who go to sacred places to praise Him. And God loves those who strive to do the right thing always. So when you see a person who is good, smart, God-fearing and honest and who is one that everyone likes, then you mus...

Title: Resurrection The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you." So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. Suddenly Jesus met them. "Greetings," he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me." (NIV)

When you are Suffering with Illness: What Thoughts Come to Mind?

The Miracle of Christ Healing the Blind by El Greco Over the past four months, I have been ill with different physical ailments. This is why I have not posted as often as I had intended to do on this blog. When I am ill, I always turn to God in prayer. And He always listens to my prayers, providing me with a great deal of help. For a few days during my suffering, I had such thoughts as these: “Why God? Why? Since my childhood days—when I’d known any knowledge of the world and of Heaven and God and Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, I was and still am very faithful to you. Why must there be so much suffering for me?” Then I opened the Bible, and the following verses came before my eyes: Book of John, Ch 9: 1-3 Jesus Heals a Man Born Blind 1As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. 2His disciples asked him, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?" 3"Neither this man nor his parents sinned," said Jesus, "but this happened so tha...

Comfort by God

Read: 2 Corinthians 1:3-7 In the multitude of my anxieties within me, your comforts delight my soul. -- Psalms 94:19 Pray like this: Give me a spirit of peace dear Lord, in the middle of the storms and temptations that roll, that I may find rest, and quiet within a calm burned deep in my soul. "The God who washes away our sins also wipes away our tears."

The Lord's Prayer

Artist: "Thy Will Be Done" by Danny Hahlbohm Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation. But deliver us from evil. Amen. (Matthew 6:9-13)

In The Garden

Image Courtesy: Indian Institute of Science Lyrics from my favorite song : In The Garden I come to the garden alone While the dew is still on the roses And the voice I hear, falling on my ear The Son of God discloses And He walks with me And He talks with me And He tells me I am His own And the joy we share as we tarry there None other has ever known He speaks and the sound of His voice Is so sweet the birds hush their singing And the melody that He gave to me Within my heart is ringing And He walks with me And He talks with me And He tells me I am His own And the joy we share as we tarry there None other has ever known I'd stay in the garden with Him 'Tho the night around me be falling But He bids me go; through the voice of woe His voice to me is calling And He walks with me And He talks with me And He tells me I am His own And the joy we share as we tarry there None other has ever known. --by Austin C. Christian Quotes from C.S Lewis

How Can You Create Authentic Power Within You?

First of all, it doesn’t happen right away. To align your personality with your soul does not happen right away…just because you want it to. It takes lots of time. Every time you set your mind to: create harmony, cooperate, and show and keep reverence for life—you begin the process. It works slowly, step by step. The more you align your personality with your soul, the more you naturally do what is in your heart. Doing this means, listening to your heart, this in turn means that you are more towards your way of spirituality. Then your life will have full meaning and happiness. It is in this way that you create authentic power. What is Authentic Power? It means unity of the spirit with your soul and personality. An authentically empowered person lives with love. Love is the intention of the soul. Love is power. Love heals everything. A good example of love is Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us that He loved the world so much that he died on the cross to save sinners. Spirituality is not of...
