What God Wants from You

God is very kind and loving to those who trust and believe in Him. What does God want from you? Psalm 15 explores that very question: Psalm 15 (King James Version) Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour. In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not. He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved. God loves those who go to church to worship Him. He loves those who go to sacred places to praise Him. And God loves those who strive to do the right thing always. So when you see a person who is good, smart, God-fearing and honest and who is one that everyone likes, then you mus...

Title: Resurrection The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you." So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. Suddenly Jesus met them. "Greetings," he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me." (NIV)

When you are Suffering with Illness: What Thoughts Come to Mind?

The Miracle of Christ Healing the Blind by El Greco Over the past four months, I have been ill with different physical ailments. This is why I have not posted as often as I had intended to do on this blog. When I am ill, I always turn to God in prayer. And He always listens to my prayers, providing me with a great deal of help. For a few days during my suffering, I had such thoughts as these: “Why God? Why? Since my childhood days—when I’d known any knowledge of the world and of Heaven and God and Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, I was and still am very faithful to you. Why must there be so much suffering for me?” Then I opened the Bible, and the following verses came before my eyes: Book of John, Ch 9: 1-3 Jesus Heals a Man Born Blind 1As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. 2His disciples asked him, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?" 3"Neither this man nor his parents sinned," said Jesus, "but this happened so tha...

Comfort by God

Read: 2 Corinthians 1:3-7 In the multitude of my anxieties within me, your comforts delight my soul. -- Psalms 94:19 Pray like this: Give me a spirit of peace dear Lord, in the middle of the storms and temptations that roll, that I may find rest, and quiet within a calm burned deep in my soul. "The God who washes away our sins also wipes away our tears."

The Lord's Prayer

Artist: "Thy Will Be Done" by Danny Hahlbohm Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation. But deliver us from evil. Amen. (Matthew 6:9-13)

Season's Greetings

"Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you: he is Christ the Lord." Luke 2:11 "And there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch by night. And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them." Luke 2:8:9 "Glory to God in the highest, and on Earth peace, good will toward men." Luke 2:14

Lessons from Ecclesiastes: How to Be a Happy Human Being

Please read from the Bible: Ecclesiastes Ch.2: 10-11, 24-26; Ch.3: 11-15; and Ch.5: 18-20. God has made everything beautiful in its time. He also revealed to humans the notion of eternity. Thus, it is better for mankind to know that there is nothing better for us to strive for than to be happy and to do good while living on earth. Eat, drink and do good things with whatever God has blessed you with. That’s truly a gift from God. If God gives any man wealth and prosperity, it’s important for him to enjoy them and be thankful for them. God can keep a heart with gladness and peace, in much the same way that He can give a man riches. Thus, man has to learn how God gives to his people, and then follow God’s Kingdom of Grace and also share some of his God given gifts with the poor and needy. The more you give, the more you will be blessed. One thing is very clear in my heart: there is nothing so important and valuable in this world than to live your life happy and to share your love and kind...

When You Are Down

Read Psalms Chapter 6 "The Lord has heard the voice of my weeping." Psalms 6: 8 Come ye disconsolate, wherever ye languish - come to the mercy seat, fervently kneel, here bring your wounded hearts, here tell your anguish, earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal. “Remember: when things look down, try to look up."

Comforted By God

Read 2 Corinthians 1: 3-7 “In the multitude of my anxieties within me, your comforts delight my soul.” Psalms 94:19 Pray like this: Give me a Spirit of peace dear Lord, in the middle of storms and temptations that roll; that I may find rest, and quiet with a calm burned deep in my soul. “The God who washes away our sins also wipes away our tears.”

Thought For the Day

I Corinthians 3:16: Don’t you know that you yourself are God’s temple and that God’s spirit lives in you? Mark 11:23-24: Whoever says to the mountain, be taken up and cast into the sea, and doesn’t doubt in his heart, it will be done for him. This passage means that whatever you ask for in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith. Whenever you do pray, forgive if you have anything against anyone, so that your father also forgives you. Jesus Christ’s mission is to give love and forgiveness.

How To Find Your Way Home

I think we should all reflect upon and know how to make our lives more fulfilling in love, happiness, and success, and also to maintain a peaceful mind. To keep up personal happiness, everyone must understand and ask oneself: “Why I am not happy?” Am I sincere to others and myself? Why or why not? When your mind is filled with many other things and problems, an emotional blockage occurs between the soul and the mind. Thus, messages will not be transmitted properly from soul to mind. This results in an individual having negative thoughts occupy their mind. How can one stop this? Emotional healing comes through self-examination. If you can understand where you go wrong and why you are getting negative thoughts, then you can correct yourself and become happier and healthier. A good reference in the Bible is Matthew 19:16-21 . Actually you can read whole chapter. The passage describes the following scenario: a person approaches Jesus and asks him “what good things shall I do, that I may ha...

Some Passages on Kindness

"Be not forgetful to entertain strangers for thereby some have entertained angels unawares."—Hebrews 13:2 “Smile at each other, smile at your wife, smile at your husband, smile at your children, smile at each other -- it doesn't matter who it is -- and that will help you to grow up in greater love for each other.” —Mother Teresa "If instead of a gem, or even a flower, we should cast the gift of a loving thought into the heart of a friend, that would be giving as the angels give."—George MacDonald (Scottish Author and Poet) "That best portion of a good man's life; his little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and love."—William Wordsworth "Wherever there is a human being, there is an opportunity for kindness."—Seneca (Roman Philosopher)

Season's Greetings

" The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace. "—Psalm 29:11 May the Lord bless you with peace during this holiday season. A very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all!

Conscience

"Our conscience is a gift from God, it is a guiding light. And when aligned with God's true word, it shows us what is right."—Sper If we don't follow our conscience, we are headed straight for trouble. So we can try to be safe by listening to that inner voice. You can read related passages from the Bible in Acts 5:1-11 and in I Thessalonians 5:19.
